Haven't things changed quickly! The world wide web has come a long way - and so have we at school - when did we start with e-mails - 2004?? The number of resources available on line now are a teenagers / students dream - but in most cases I think they are a teachers nightmare. Where will I find enough hours in the day to tinker on line, to learn what I need to know to keep within sight of what is available.
As I sit in a library in Canberra using their free WiFi internet to begin this course on my laptop I am surrounded by young adults using the libraries computers to log on to access their mail / facebook accounts and complete job applications. While we have come so far - this is a stark reminder that there are still a large number of people as well as some of our students out there who do not have computer access at home. What opportunities are they missing out on, unable to freely access what most of us take for granted.
Had lots of fun with my igoogle page & thanks to my new gmail account I now have 3 places from which to answer e-mails. Wish I could add extra hours to each day as easily. ktf
